The Ispra (institute for the protection and the environment research) presented the summary report about the national monitoring of pesticides in water in 2007 and 2008. This study showed interesting news about the “usual suspect”  neurotoxic insecticides!

"2008 data shows the presence of several substances that were not common in the past. In particular the fungicide carben dazim (found both in surface water and in groundwater) and the insecticides imidacloprid and methomyl. The high frequency of these substances are mainly due to the data provided from Sicily, which, compared to previous years has considerably extended the range of substances they are looking for". i_mediaAndrea Raffinetti made a video about media and bees. The serious decline of bees and beekeeping is still highly regarded by several media groups in Europe. In Europe the crisis of bees strikes the nations one by one, especially in western countries, with "richer nations"  with a “much more developed and modern” agriculture, such as Germany, France and England. Out of the 2.4 million hives in the United States, 32% disappeared in 2007, 36% disappeared in 2008, and 28% disappeared in 2009. (data from the Ministry of agriculture USDA)
